We're Karel and Sam, husband and wife and the founders of Renaissance. Together, we're building a future where education is abundant with choice — not just for learners everywhere but also for our own family.
Despite being foundational for the development of the modern world, education has not changed since the industrial revolution. From Sam's Montessori roots into teaching and tech, and Karel's path as a computer science dropout turned founder, we've seen firsthand the need to take education into our own hands, as well as the power of choice.
We're not here to dwell on the problems of education, we're here to bring solutions. While fixing it won't be easy, we've seen similar shifts in industries once thought too entrenched to change—like financial services and healthcare. What unlocked progress was the introduction of greater choice and agency.
